This beautiful Grade II Georgian house set in the heart of the Cotswolds was the second project that we completed for this family.
The clients were keen to add elements of modern drama throughout the house, alongside existing and new furniture. A large Flos “cocoon” suspension light presides over the main stair above a pair of simple oak Arts and Crafts dining chairs; a large decorative French bed forms the mainstay of the master bedroom offset against beautifully light Mediterranean style translucent voile curtains whilst upstairs, an original 1940’s Eames RAR rocking chair sits within a vaulted attic bedroom with walls battoned in red Toile de Jouy.
Combined with a considerable amount of new joinery – including a whole room lined with bookshelves to house some of the family’s many books – the overall result is a successful, eclectic mix of old and new that reflects the life, travels and work of the family who live here.
